The Current Ram Powertrain Warranty starts at the time of original purchase. This Warranty follows the vehicle and covers all owners. The Basic Warranty (Referred to as the bumper-bumper) is for 3 years or 36,000 miles, and the Ram powertrain warranty is for 5 years and 60,000 miles. The powertrain warranty covers the costs of parts and labor for the following repairs. Firstly, the engine, Secondly the Transmission, thirdly is your front wheel and or all-wheel drive components.

Coverage is limited to casings and all internally lubricated parts.  Your Ram Powertrain Warranty is very limited coverage compared to the 3-year basic warranty or a Mopar Extended Warranty. You should look into additional coverage. Today Ram warranty pricing is very reasonable.

The history of the Ram truck stretches back to 1981 when it was still the Dodge Ram. The Ram truck had the D series as its predecessor. So, to say Dodge didn’t put the Ram into the truck market lacking experience.  The Dodge Ram first generation came with 5 different engine options between 1980 and 1993.
