This error results in improper electrical signals, causing the driver to experience a higher than normal steering effort variable to the vehicle speed.
  • Recall # 02V268                                   Date: Unknown                       Recall: Toyota recalls certain Toyota Prius vehicles that might require repeated start and stop operation in certain driving conditions. It is also at risk of accumulating snow in the rear wheel and freeze. When this occurs frequently, it could cause damage to the rear brake line and cause brake fluid breakage. Over time, it reduces the effectiveness of the brake.
  • Recall # 21V734000                                   Date: 2021-09-21                       Recall: Toyota recalls the 2022 Toyota Prius and Prius Prime vehicles due to a defective Engine Control Unit. The ECU software can falsely detect errors and shut down, losing the drive power.
  • Recall # 20V369000                                   Date: 2020-06-24                       Recall: Toyota recalls the 2013-2015 Toyota Prius and 2014-2017 Prius V vehicles. The hybrid system is at risk of shutting down due to excessive voltage on the Intelligent Power Module. This error can cause the vehicle to stall while driving.
  • Recall # 19V876000                                   Date: 2019-12-10                       Recall: Toyota recalls the 2019 Toyota Prius vehicles when there is an electrical short circuit in the combination meter. This error can cause the speedometer, fuel gauge, and odometer to malfunction. These vehicles fail to comply with the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard on “Controls and Displays.”

This error can cause the brake booster pump to fail and the Vehicle Stability Control System to deactivate. It can also result in a loss of brake power.
  • Recall # 19V491000                                   Date: 2019-06-25                       Recall: Toyota recalls the 2018-2019 Toyota Prius C vehicles due to a failed DC-DC converter, which resulted in the auxiliary battery not having enough power and a loss of drive.
  • Recall # 19V244000                                   Date: 2019-03-26                       Recall: Toyota recalls the 2019 Toyota Prius and certain C-HR, Avalon, 4Runner, Camry, Highlander, Land Cruiser, RAV4, Sequoia, Sienna, Tundra, and Yaris vehicles. This could result in the text in the load capacity label not being illegible, which does not comply with the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard on “Tire Selection and Rims.”
  • Recall # 18V684000                                  Date: 2018-10-04                       Recall: Toyota recalls the 2010-2014 Toyota Prius and 2012-2014 Prius V vehicles. The hybrid system could shut down due to excessive voltage in the Intelligent Power Module, which risks the vehicle stalling while being driven.
  • Recall # 18V579000                                   Date: 2018-09-04                       Recall: Toyota recalls the 2016-2018 Toyota Prius vehicles. The recall is due to the engine wire harness connected to the hybrid Power Control Unit coming into contact with the cover, causing wear and possibly an elecrtical short circuit.
  • Recall # 21V421000                                  Date: 2018-03-14                       Recall: Toyota recalls the 2018 Toyota Prius C vehicles sold in Puerto Rico due to the front passenger air bag and child occupant seating positions label not attached during assembly. Therefore, it fails to comply with the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard on “Occupant Crash Protection.”
  • Recall # 18V085000                                  Date: 2018-01-30                       Recall: Toyota recalls the 2016 Toyota Prius and certain Toyota Lexus vehicles. This recall is due to a failure on the air bag pressure sensors and the acceleration sensor, which causes the air bag to fail upon deployment during a crash.
  • Recall # 17V718000                                  Date: 2017-11-15                       Recall: Toyota recalls the 2012-2015 Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid vehicles. These vehicles have a hybrid battery with EV fuse that could fracture after high-load driving conditions.
  • Recall # 17V658000                                  Date: 2017-10-17                       Recall: Toyota recalls the 2016 Toyota Prius vehicles with improperly bolted capacitor within the hybrid system.
  • Recall # 17V295000                                  Date: 2017-05-01                       Recall: Toyota recalls the 2017 Toyota Prius and Prius C vehicles and certain Toyota 4Runner, Avalon, Camry, Corolla, Highlander, RAV4, Sienna, and Yaris vehicles. These vehicles have incorrect spare tire air pressure not aligned with the Tire Pressure Label.
  • Recall # 16V741000                                 Date: 2016-10-13                       Recall: Toyota recalls the 2016-2017 Toyota Prius vehicles manufactured from August 2015 to October 2016. These vehicles have foot-operated parking brake systems that are at risk of having their parking brake cable disengage.
  • Recall # 16V672000                                 Date: 2016-09-15                       Recall: Toyota recalls the 2016 Toyota Prius vehicles manufactured from November 2015 to June 2016. This recall is due to a manufacturing error on the iar bag inflator that resulted in an inadvertent and partial front passenger air bag inflation.
  • Recall # 16V487000                                 Date: 2016-06-30                       Recall: Toyota recalls the 2010-2012 Toyota Prius and 2010 and 2012 Toyota Prius Plug-In Hybrid vehicles and certain Lexus vehicles. These vehicles have a curtain shield in the air bag inflator at risk of cracking,  eventually risking the release of the inflator within the passenger cabin.
  • Recall # 16V396000                                 Date: 2016-06-02                       Recall: Toyota recalls the 2010-2012 Toyota Prius and certain Toyota 4Runner, Highlander, Sequoia, Sienna, Avalon, Tundra, Camry, Tacoma, RAV4, Tacoma, Venza and Corolla vehicles. These vehicles have aftermarket seat heaters with damaged electrical wirings.

These vehicles have an improperly calibrated Tire Pressure Monitoring System, causing the system to fail in alerting the vehicle that the tire is low in pressure.

There is a component within the hybrid inverter assembly at risk of overheating, which causes the hybrid system to lose power. Therefore, the vehicle is unable to travel at a long distance or else it could shut down.

These vehicles can have damaged seat heater wiring due to compression of the seat cushion.
  • Recall # 14V053000                                Date: 2014-02-11                       Recall: Toyota recalls the 2010-2014 Toyota Prius vehicles due to damaged transistors within the Intelligent Power Module within the inverter module due to high operating temperatures. This error could cause various warning lights to illuminate on the instrument panel until the vehicle loses power, limiting its ability to drive long distances.
  • Recall # 13V235000                                 Date: 2013-06-05                       Recall: Toyota recalls the 2010 Prius vehicles manufactured from March to October 2009 and certain Toyota Lexus vehicles. The recall is due to a component of the brake booster pump assembly could leak nitrogen gas into the brake fluid.
  • Recall # 13V123000                                 Date: 2013-04-09                       Recall: Toyota recalls the 2012 Prius and certain Toyota Tundra, RAV4, Sequoia, Corolla, Camry, Highlander, FJ Cruiser, Land Cruiser, Venza, 4Runner, Tacoma, Sienna, and Scion vehicles. These vehicles have accessories with passenger seat occupant sensing system calibration tested. Without calibration testing, the occupant sensing system might not work properly.

These vehicles have a scratch that occurred inside the water pump at the coil wire, causing it to corrode within the scratched portion.

These vehicles have a steering intermediate extension shaft assembly with metal splines that have insufficient hardness.
